Professional makeup for film production is an integral part of the production process. Cinema cameras and professional lighting equipment require a fundamentally higher standard of skin preparation, texture control, and durability.
Professional camera optics capture the finest details: skin texture, shine, product buildup, and layer thickness. Therefore, facial preparation is a technical component of production.
Hygiene and Safety Standard — Mandatory Protocol.
During every shoot, the following rules are strictly observed:
• Each child receives a personal labeled box containing:
— an individual mixing palette,
— a personal powder puff,
— a separate sponge/applicators.
• Cosmetic products are dispensed exclusively using a spatula onto an individual palette, without direct contact with the original packaging.
• Professional brushes undergo mandatory cleaning and disinfection between children.
• Professional hypoallergenic disinfectants intended for use in the film and television industry are utilized (including BeautySoClean for cosmetics and brushes).
This protocol eliminates cross-contamination and complies with professional makeup industry standards.
Why We Ask That Children Arrive at the Shoot Without Makeup
Home-applied makeup (even high-end products) typically:
• creates excessive product buildup,
• settles into pores,
• produces patchiness, shine, and uneven tone under professional lighting and outdoor conditions.
Filming involves extended hours, bright lighting, movement, location changes, and varying weather conditions. What appears acceptable in everyday life often results on camera in unwanted shine, foundation shifting, mascara transferring under the eyes, and loss of lip definition.
As a result, complete removal of existing makeup and full skin re-preparation become necessary, which affects the filming schedule and final outcome.
The studio works exclusively with professional cosmetics and makeup products developed specifically for use in the film industry. Their primary characteristics are durability, predictability, and control of shine and texture.
- Foundation/concealer and setting powder — RCMA.
A high concentration of pigment allows minimal application without a “mask” effect, ensuring stable coverage on camera.
RCMA No-Color / Kryolan HD Powder features a micro-milled, shimmer-free formula that does not reflect light and sets without heaviness.
- Primers, eyeshadows, skin camouflage products, blush, and final setting — Kryolan.
Developed for filming, featuring finely milled textures and predictable performance under bright lighting.
Primers smooth the skin surface and enhance makeup longevity.
- Matte eyeshadows provide controlled results without unwanted reflection.
Setting products maintain uniform coverage without altering color.
- Mascara — Blinc (tubing technology).
Does not flake, does not transfer, and maintains a clean under-eye area throughout the entire shoot.
- Brow setting — Anastasia Beverly Hills.
Ensures stable shape without residue or excessive buildup.
- Lipstick — Stila Stay All Day.
A long-wear formula that maintains lip shape and color, delivering an even matte finish without unnecessary shine.
- Professional makeup intended for film, video, and photography is stable, clean on camera, hygienically safe, and predictable in performance.
We kindly ask parents to follow these regulations and ensure that children arrive at the shoot with clean faces.
